Whether you want to help yourself to the extensive breakfast buffet or experience an individual à la carte dinner, our hotel guests will find all of this here. Our kitchen team relies on modern interpretations, fresh dishes and focuses on authentic international cuisine.

Björn Reckeweg -
The face behind the culinary highlights
One of our trademarks is our upscale gastronomy, which delights our hotel guests. This success is thanks to Björn Reckeweg and his team of 8.
Björn began his career in his father's garage and has been working in the kitchens of upmarket hotels and restaurants in Germany for over 20 years. He completed his training at Schloss Martfeld in Schwelm under Kai Weidner, followed by stints at the gourmet restaurant Florians in Dortmund, the L'árrive Hotel & SPA and the Hotel Vierjahreszeiten in Iserlohn.
In May 2024, Björn joined the WELCOME team in Bochum and accompanied the kitchen renovation in the pre-opening phase. Since July 1, 2024, he has been leading the team that cooks for VIU's guests with a variety of ingredients, recipes, motivation and passion. The menu includes German classics as well as French and Asian influences. Inspired by local and seasonal offerings, Björn and his team modernize old classics with new influences and preparation methods, allowing guests to constantly experience new culinary delights.
