With a capacity of 26,000 seats, 12,000 of which are standing room, the stadium offers one of the most intimate and atmospheric arenas in German professional soccer. Here you can feel the special closeness to the pitch. In recent years, the infrastructure and amenities have been modernized, including the expansion of the business area, new catering stands, and improved sanitary facilities to offer visitors an all-round comfortable experience.
Practical tips for your visit on game day
To ensure that your soccer weekend is completely relaxed, as our guest you can enjoy all the advantages of our perfect location:
- Secure your tickets – Regardless of how you travel, tickets should be purchased early as games often sell out quickly. Ticket prices vary depending on the opponent and seat category, often starting at around €15-20 for standing room and ranging up to €60-80 or more for the best seats. We therefore recommend checking the current conditions directly on the official VfL Bochum website.
- Kick-off within walking distance – Simply leave your car in our hotel car park. The Vonovia Ruhrstadion is only 700 meters away and can be easily reached on foot in less than ten minutes. This way, you can avoid traffic jams and the search for a parking space and soak up the atmosphere before the game in a relaxed manner.
- Public transportation right outside the door – The “Tierpark” bus stop is located directly in front of the hotel. However, the short walk is the best option for getting to the stadium. If you are arriving from the main train station, tram lines 308 or 316 will take you to the “Vonovia Ruhrstadion” stop in just three minutes.
- Plan a stadium tour – Outside of match times, it's worth taking a look behind the scenes of the stadium. Tours are often offered as part of special fan packages, sometimes even accompanied by club legends.
If you take these tips to heart, you can concentrate fully on the thrilling moments and enjoy your day of soccer without any hassle.
