Generic questions

After digital check-in, your room key will be downloaded directly to your smartphone. You can check in via the email link or at a terminal in the hotel. Once you confirm acceptance of the key on your phone, it's immediately ready for use.

To add and use a room key in Apple Wallet, you need an iPhone 6S or later (or an iPhone SE 2nd generation) with the latest version of iOS. Optionally, you can also use an Apple Watch Series 5 or later (or an Apple Watch SE) with the latest watchOS.

To use with Google Wallet, you need an Android device running Android 9 or later with NFC enabled. We also recommend installing the latest version of the Google Wallet app.

Once the room key has been added to your wallet, you can use it immediately.

Once your Wallet Key is activated, simply hold your smartphone or compatible smartwatch near the reader on your room door to unlock it.

The Wallet Key is currently available at our Welcome Hotel in Darmstadt.

Yes, you can use both.

If you've booked multiple rooms for the same period, your digital room key will be automatically activated for all rooms.

If you've booked multiple stays at the same hotel, each stay will appear in your Wallet with its own key. However, only the key for your current stay will be activated upon check-in.

Apple specific questions

With the Wallet Key, you can add your room key to Apple Wallet, making it easy and convenient to use your iPhone or Apple Watch as a key for your hotel room.

When you add your room key to Apple Wallet, it's stored exclusively on your device. Apple has no insight into when or which rooms you access. Your data remains private and secure at all times.

When you add the room key to Apple Wallet on your iPhone, it will also be automatically added to your paired Apple Watch. To unlock the door, simply hold your Apple Watch to the reader.

No. Thanks to Express Mode, you don't need to unlock or activate your iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock the door.

Yes. On iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and newer, Power Reserve lets you use your room key for up to five hours after the "iPhone needs charging" message appears, allowing you to continue accessing your room.

Sollten Sie Ihr iPhone oder Ihre Apple Watch verlieren, empfehlen wir, umgehend die Funktion „Wo ist?“ (ehemals „Mein iPhone suchen“) zu verwenden. Damit können Sie alle Karten in Apple Wallet sperren oder löschen.

Ihr digitaler Zimmerschlüssel wird automatisch wieder aktiviert, sobald Ihr Gerät gefunden wurde und Sie es über iCloud.com entsperrt haben.
