WELCOME HOTELS takes the trade-fair city of Frankfurt am Main by stormSunflowers over Mainhattan The WELCOME hotel group announced their plans to open a new hotel in the Main metropolis of Frankfurt. The state-of-the-art complex set to open in spring 2010 will be the WELCOME group’s 15th hotel and the first in one of Germany’s larger cities known as the 'big 7'. The groundbreaking ceremony for the planned seven-storey hotel will take place in January 2009 on land commonly known as the "Rebstockgelände” located just 300m from the Frankfurter Messe GmbH and immediately adjacent to the Europaviertel. The new WELCOME HOTEL will be a full-service, multi-star hotel in the 3 and 4 star sector comprising a total of 173 rooms and suites.
"You are welcome": new hotel, well proven concept As in the past, the latest of the Warstein-based hotel group’s projects will focus on the successful combination of "business" and the "feel-good" factor. Similarly, the Frankfurt/Main project also lays great store on a location with plenty of green space around it whilst ensuring that the hotel is optimally placed for access to the transport system. Ease of accessibility of the hotel as well as the city, the tram network, the motorway and the airport all being within easy reach is essential for the expected target group comprising national and international business travellers and trade fair visitors as well as congress, seminar and conference delegates. Directors Carsten Kritz and Mario Pick are confident of generating a high level of demand with the state-of-the-art, target group oriented fixtures and fittings in conjunction with 320m2 of in-house conference facilities and a variety of dining options – all offering the famed WELCOME price-performance ratio. "We want our hotel to stand out from other traditional trade-fair hotels. We will be offering our guests a first-class stylish hotel with a high level of leisure and recreational facilities – all at great rates", says Kritz. "A WELCOME guest should always feel welcome and at home" continues Pick. "I am sure that our spacious soft-wellness centre that also includes both a Finnish and a steam sauna all on the seventh floor the hotel affording stunning views of the Mainhattan skyline will play a major part in this”. The new WELCOME hotel in this prime location of Frankfurt am Main will not however be a classic business hotel. It is hoped that the interior design, the food and beverage opportunities and the leisure facilities will attract tourists visiting Frankfurt, too.
The selection of hotel operator and the governance of the terms of the contract have been in the capable hands of Christie + Co, one of Europe’s leading business agents in the hospitality sector. Project develeopment is being handled by GeRo Real Estate AG, who are being exclusively advised by Christie + Co. Philipp Kraneis, Authorised Signatory and Head of Investment Germany for Christie + Co: "With WELCOME HOTELS and GeRo Real Estate AG we are delighted to be able to bring together two such professional partners. In particular the new hotel’s prime location so close to the trade fair centre – approaching from the airport the hotel is to be built on the right making it very easy to access – as well as the high visual appeal and the multi-star concept are a great start for a very successful long-term future".
